For the September monthly meeting, we had a guest speaker, Amy Rhodes, a local professional photographer who presented information on techniques and things to think about when photographing people.
She had interesting tips on different lighting techniques, composition of family members in group photos, how to take candid, informal shots, how to capture emotion and feelings in the image, and consideration of location and time of day when scheduling a session.
She brought images that were printed on canvas, as well as numerous individual and family portraits projected on the screen to demonstrate her points. She is especially conscious of the lighting as she composes her subjects in an effort to create stunning and memorable images that people will cherish for years to come.
