Program for the August 13, 2020 Photo Club Monthly Meeting
Constructive Critique Session
Access Passcode: 5mp5*@BH
Come join us via a ZOOM session on Thursday, August 13, 2020, 7pm for a fun
and informative session! We will have a special guest, Allan Duff,
who is a member of the Nevada Camera Club and has served as one of their photo
judges for their monthly competitions for several years. Allan
provided this expertise to us a few years ago, and members were appreciative
of his comments.
You are invited to submit 1-2 photos for this evening’s
session. Allan will critique each photo, pointing out strengths and
offering constructive comments/ideas to possibly improve the
photo. For those of you new to the Club, please do not be hesitant
about submitting your photo(s)…we think you will find this to be not only
helpful and informative as we all strive to improve our photography skills,
but also FUN!
The session will begin with Allan reviewing the winning photos from the Photo
Scavenger Hunt held in January 2020 (Round 1). After these have
been reviewed, he will provide comments for member photos in Round 2, then in
Round 3.
You will have an opportunity to ask Allan a question or two after he has
provided comments for your photo, or you may have no questions for him, and
that’s OK too!
If we are still meeting only by ZOOM sessions in August, the only thing you
need to do to participate is look through your photos, select either one or
two photos, and
post here
or email them to Diane Frankenfield (dfranken2@gmail.com) as JPEG file attachments to your message. Please name your file
with the following format (first name, last name initial_###):
Ex: DianeF_002, DianeF_003
where _002 indicates that photo will be in Round 2 and _003 indicates that
photo will be in Round 3.
The deadline for posting to the Google album or emailing your image(s) to
Diane is
August 7, 2020
If we learn that Desert Vista will be open for in-person meetings August 13,
we’ll get the word out, and you would need to bring
your matted photo(s) (you do not need to frame) to the
meeting. Photo size 11" x 14" (matted = 16" x 20") is recommended so that the
audience can see more easily, or 8" x 10" photo size (matted = 11" x 14").
Square photos and panoramic photos are also fine to submit.
If you have any questions, please contact Diane at dfranken2@gmail.com
